At the Regional Ecological Summit (RES-2026) in Astana, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening regional cooperation on the cryosphere by issuing a Joint Statement in support of the implementation of the Subregional Joint Action Programme (SJAP). The statement was delivered by representatives of governmental authorities of Central Asian countries in the field of environmental protection following the session “The Cryosphere of Central Asia: From Scientific Assessment to Joint Climate Adaptation Action,” organized by the UNESCO Regional Office in Almaty under the GEF–UNDP–UNESCO Cryosphere Project.
