In the summer of 2024, national partners, in collaboration with the University of Fribourg and the GEF–UNDP–UNESCO Cryosphere Project, conducted two high-altitude expeditions in Central Asia with gender-balanced teams — a rare achievement in glaciology. The photographs show women and men working side by side, carrying out glacier monitoring, snow cover measurements, and setting up camp, reflecting the growing participation of women in field research and the positive shift in attitudes toward their role compared to a decade ago.
