Senior researcher at the International Water Management Institute for Central Asia, Iskandar Abdullaev, highly praised Kazakhstan's new Water Code. According to the expert, Kazakhstan's updating of water legislation is a correct example for other Central Asian countries. The new Water Code combines Kazakhstan's experience with best international practices, taking into account climate change and changing conditions for water resource formation. The document entered into force on June 10 this year and is based on five principles, including recognizing water as an integral part of the environment and implementing water-saving technologies.
